Application Architecture II

This position functions as an Application Architect for the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) initiatives of the Department of Corrections (DOC). Under the general supervision of the Collaboration and Project Management supervisor, this position will provide leadership and direction to the Collaboration and Project Management and Infrastructure staff on the design of development of ITIL systems and solutions involving service management, change management, configuration management, and asset management.

The position will be a member of the application development team, troubleshooting issues as they arise to ensure effective ITIL system solutions along with associated application technology for the Department of Corrections (DOC).

The individual will work closely with the functional user groups within DOC to ensure effectiveness of system solutions deployed.

This position will review detailed systems specifications to ensure the development and support of new systems and enhancement of existing systems is consistent with agency development and support methodologies, standards, and policies. This position also works closely with the Secretaries Office staff in administrating and developing for their legal software.

Responsibilities:

Collaborating with senior managers to determine business-specific application needs.

Compiling and implementing application development plans for new or existing applications.

Demonstrating application prototypes and integrating user feedback.

Writing scripts and code for applications, as well as installing and updating applications.

Providing end-users with technical support.

Running diagnostic tests and performing debugging procedures.

Performing application integration, maintenance, upgrades, and migration.

Documenting application development processes, procedures, and standards.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science with a specialization in software engineering, application development, or similar.

A minimum of 2 years experience as an application architect.

Proficient in programming languages, such as SQL and JavaScript.

Willingness to learn and ability to configure cloud based or on-prem off-the-shelf business solutions.
